I was just about to start freezing some cranberries this morning when I heard my call sign on the VHF – “WhaleScout!”.

My boyfriend Lennie was running the water taxi and noticed some great swells crashing over the rocks below Catface Mountain. He wanted to take me out to shoot some photos. It was a gorgeous overcast morning – Perfect for stormy sea shots.

The rolling swells were easy enough to shoot in and we found calm spots behind the rocks to get the shots from. I am more than pleased with the result – my first attempt at shooting storm waves from out on the water! Even bigger plans for the next storm!
